About the game
Welcome to the Frontier. Try Not to Bankrupt It.
In S.C.R.A.P. (Self-Contained Resource Acquisition Platform), you've arrived on a distant frontier with a little money, a lot of ambition, and three rival colonists who want exactly the same thing you do: to get filthy rich.
Inspired by the legendary economic strategy game M.U.L.E., S.C.R.A.P. brings land speculation, resource management, robotic workers, and cutthroat trading to a modern, mobile-friendly experience. Build your fortune over twelve rounds of colony development, but don't forget that everyone's survival depends on keeping the colony running.
Claim It. Work It. Profit.
Every successful frontier empire starts with a patch of dirt. Claim land across plains, mountains, deserts, and river valleys, then decide how to put it to work. Each terrain type offers different opportunities, and some of the most valuable deposits are hidden beneath the surface.
Visit the colony store to purchase a C.L.U.N.K. (Colony Labor Utility & Navigation Kit), configure it for a resource, and physically escort your new mechanical companion to its assigned plot. Install it, and your little worker will get busy producing the goods that keep the economy alive.
But keep an eye on the clock! Development time is limited, and food shortages make it even shorter. Get caught hauling a C.L.U.N.K. when time runs out, and your expensive investment becomes a wandering runaway. Worse yet, another colonist might recover it before you do!
Four Resources. Endless Opportunities.
- Food: Keeps your colonists fed and gives you more time to develop your holdings.
- Energy: Powers the robotic workforce. Without it, production suffers.
- Ferrite: Supplies the materials needed to manufacture new robotic workers. A shortage can make C.L.U.N.K.s harder to obtain and more expensive.
- Vexite: A valuable and unpredictable mineral that can make a fortune for anyone willing to take a gamble.
Balance reliable production against speculative opportunities. Build clusters of matching operations for production bonuses, prospect for hidden deposits, and watch the colony's changing needs before committing your next investment.
Buy Low. Sell High. Panic Occasionally.
When production ends, the real competition begins. Enter a lively shared marketplace where all four colonists bargain over food, energy, ferrite, and vexite.
Set your asking price, negotiate with buyers, and watch competing offers creep toward a deal. Shortages create desperation, surpluses drive prices down, and clever traders can turn a bad harvest into a profitable opportunity.
Your AI rivals have their own inventories, budgets, strategies, and personalities. They'll compete for scarce supplies, bargain aggressively, and occasionally make some very questionable financial decisions. Just like you.
Meet Your C.L.U.N.K.s
They're hardworking. They're modular. They're not especially graceful.
These charming mechanical laborers wobble, chirp, clank, and occasionally get themselves into trouble. Configure them for different resources, escort them across the colony, and watch them work. Push your luck while towing one, and you might find yourself chasing an escaped robot across the frontier.
Runaway C.L.U.N.K.s can be recovered by anyone with enough time and determination. Finders keepers, as they say on the frontier.
One Colony. Four Competing Fortunes.
Compete against up to three AI-controlled colonists through a twelve-round economic showdown. Each rival develops land, deploys workers, trades resources, and pursues their own path to prosperity.
Random events, shifting markets, limited store inventory, and unexpected shortages keep every match interesting. And when you've finished your work early, why not visit the cantina and try your luck at a little alien gambling?
At the end of the game, the wealthiest colonist wins. But the colony itself receives a separate rating based on how well everyone managed its fragile economy.
Can you become the richest colonist on the frontier without ruining the place for everyone else?
