Back Online... Mostly

Cube Dev: Back Online... Mostly
Well, the office is mostly back together.
The new desk is in place, the computers are hooked back up, and everything I actually need to function is within reach.
Behind me?
That's another story.
Boxes. Knick-knacks. Dice. Magazines. Books. Cords. Tools. Tarantulas. Random things that apparently had homes before I tore the office apart and now seem determined to live on the floor forever.
You name it, it's probably somewhere in the pile behind me.
The funny part is that the new desk actually has less usable surface area than the old one.
That's intentional.
I can't pile nearly as much stuff on this one, which should force me to keep things a little more organized instead of slowly burying myself under whatever happens to land on the desk.
It also gives me the room I need for that new 39-inch widescreen I'm planning for next month. And next month, the lovely lit display cabinets to place all the tarantula enclosures in!! I'm not too sure that some of them have enjoyed this process though as a more than a few of them are standing upside down on the walls of their homes.... considering they lost their previous scenic views of the desk.. I may need to watch them closely to make sure they aren't plotting my demise!
=D
Of Course, Something Had to Break
The office move did come with one unexpected problem.
For some reason, my trusty Eero Max 7 decided that after being moved around, maintaining an internet connection was no longer part of its job description.
For roughly 36 hours, it was happily dropping the connection every three to five minutes.
That made putting a network back together considerably more entertaining than it needed to be.
I think it's finally resolved.
I'm crossing my fingers, but at the moment I've managed almost 20 consecutive minutes without losing the connection.
We're setting the bar high around here.
Meanwhile, Back in the Dungeon...
Not much development has happened during all of this, and things will probably move a little slower while I make sense of the piles of chaos still surrounding me.
I did manage to get some testing done, though.
The remaining quest types have now been tested, and everything appears to be working. Quests can be generated, completed and resolved properly within their floors, including the portal-based quests and mini-dungeons I added previously.
So that's another fairly large system I can start checking off the list.
Next Stop: Sanctuary
The next major piece of the game is going to be the Sanctuary.
And that's not really one feature.
It's a home for several new systems.
Equipment repairs will finally become part of the gameplay loop, giving all that durability loss and collected scrap somewhere to go.
Equipment upgrades will come into play as well.
Getting the repair system working also opens the door for a Mend option at dungeon camps, giving you a way to spend resources and patch up damaged equipment without having to make it all the way back to Sanctuary.
So even though development itself has slowed down a little, things are still moving forward.
On both fronts, actually.
The dungeon is slowly getting more complete, and the office is slowly becoming recognizable as an office again.
Then October brings another round of chaos with the rest of the new office furniture, shelving, and finally finding permanent homes for all the tarantulas and everything else currently occupying the floor behind me.
For now, though, the computers are running.
The network appears to be running.
The quests are running.
The TVs are streaming again.
That's enough progress for the moment.
