Quest System In, Computers Out

Cube Dev: Quest System In, Computers Out

Time to shut things down for a little while.

Not because I've broken the game this time, but because the office is getting a much-needed makeover with a new desk and, hopefully, some better organization.

Unfortunately, the work machine gets priority.

After all, I do have a full-time job, and I have to pay for this hobby somehow.

One More System Before Shutdown

I did manage to get the basic quest system in place before everything gets unplugged.

So far, it appears to be working.

At least one type of quest definitely does.

An NPC can give you a quest that opens a portal to a separate mini-dungeon. Step through, complete the objective inside, make your way back out, and the quest system tracks the whole thing.

That's exactly what I wanted the tomb and mini-dungeon system to be able to do, so seeing all those pieces finally connected is a nice place to leave things for a bit.

There are other quest types waiting to be tested, but those will have to wait until everything is back together.

Now for the Real Quest

First, I have a desk to disassemble.

Then I need to safely stow four different PCs, tear apart a good chunk of the office, build the new desk, reorganize everything, and start piecing the network back together.

I'm sure that will go completely according to plan.

Once everything has a home again and I can find all the cables, it'll be back to the dungeon.

For now, though, the adventurer gets a short rest.

Apparently the developer does too.
